Amazing

I normally don't blog this often, but really with the ease of this scribefire, i really want to say THANK YOU! you have made blogging for me just so so so easy. i have really always found blogging with the stigma that it was troublesome as i always had to go log in and blog, now with scriefire. blogging will never be the same for me again. ok..

First toodles to JJ! i think that JJ has grown alot and i appreciate that mr ng can appreciate that today's standards are the efforts of from the past, that today's successes are the echoes of the hopeful and jubilant screams and cheer cast from our time. ITs really fun.. haha.. i don't wanna say too much beacuse i won't i'll just put key words for JJ nite.

So yeah.. i'm really liking my students i just am starting to feel the strain from having to prepare consistently, cos i always imagined that there was A FIXED syllabus to follow, but really the english language is really flexible. anyways. i really really liked one of the stories i shared with my students to use for the debates, and i'm proud of myself for being able to teach it, and make them use it for the debates, but i think it was really powerful.

A young boy went to the beach one day, and saw an old man walk up and down the beach the whole afternoon, picking up starfishes to throw into the sea. The young boy walked up and inquired why the old man did so. He replied that when it was low tide, and the starfishes are left on the beach, the would dry up and die before the high tide came again.

"But you can't possibly save all the starfishes on the beach!? There's really just too many!"

"then i will save one starfish at a time."

*must plan for Taipei itinerary.

On Change.

Barack Obama - Yes We Can.

Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am's music video inspired by Barack Obama's message of hope.

Yes We Can!
¡Sí, Se Puede!

It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation.

Yes we can.

It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom.

Yes we can.

It was sung by immigrants as they struck out from distant shores and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness.

Yes we can.

It was the call of workers who organized; women who reached for the ballots; a President who chose the moon as our new frontier; and a King who took us to the mountaintop and pointed the way to the Promised Land.

Yes we can to justice and equality.

Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity.

Yes we can heal this nation.

Yes we can repair this world.

Yes we can.

We know the battle ahead will be long, but always remember that no matter what obstacles stand in our way, nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change.

We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics...they will only grow louder and more dissonant ........... We've been asked to pause for a reality check. We've been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope.

But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope.

Now the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA; we will remember that there is something happening in America; that we are not as divided as our politics suggests; that we are one people; we are one nation; and together, we will begin the next great chapter in the American story with three words that will ring from coast to coast; from sea to shining sea --

Yes. We. Can.
